02About

So, who is Evan?

Background

Let's start from the beginning.

Born and raised in the slopes of San Francisco's Nob Hill as a son of immigrants, I grew up as the nerdy kid with glasses who never put down his math workbook. That curiosity never really went away, but instead developed. In high school, it turned into building my own PC from scratch, piece by piece to understand how it worked. Now, I'm studying Computer Science Engineering and Applied Mathematics at UCLA, chasing that same inclination to build and figure out why it matters.

Since then, I've carried that instinct into personal hobbies and campus organizations like Bruin Software Engineers alike. I keep finding myself drawn to both the building and the thinking behind it, and I'm looking for the next opportunity to keep doing both.

Outside of the math and coding world, you'll most likely find me listening to music, playing video games, working on my desk/PC setup, practicing piano, reading random articles, or editing a video. You might even see me with some friends eating hotpot or Korean barbeque at a restaurant (maybe a little too often!)
